The 007 Aston Martin owned by Paul Drayson has taken a backwards exit off turn 1 resulting in heavy damage to the DBR9 and resulting in yellow flags on the circuit. However this has given the Peugeot team a chance to pull their only entry into the pitlane to resolve some technical issues with the oil lines. Driver Pedro Lamy remains in the car. Elsewhere on the track the cars have begun to use their headlights signaling an oncoming change in weather.
