Corvettes dominated the first hour of the 2009 Total 24 hour race at Spa, with them taking it in turns to jump past the Maserati MC12s and challenge for the lead.

However close to the end of the hour, heavy rain struck, pushing the number 8 Corvette down, and meaning at the end of hour 1, there were two Maseratis up to 2nd and 3rd again, with just a sole Corvette (no 3) out in front.

In GT2, the lead car at the end of the first hour was a Porsche 911 GT3 RS - car 70, which was going well, setting both fastest laps for its class, and also maintaining good consistency.
