A short photo selection from the VLN on 3rd July 2010.
Marc Lieb put the Manthey GT3-R on pole, with a lap of 8:07.507 - which I think is a record! It was blistering quick.
Due to the date clash with the FIA GT3 at Paul Ricard the only real competition for the Manthey car was the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS, piloted by Hans-Jochim Stuck and Frank Stippler.
In fact by the end of the first lap Stuck had taken the lead...
They battled back and forth, but after the Audi crashed in Fuchsohre, 10 minutes from the end, the race was red flagged, allowing fans to go watch Germany thrash Argentina in the world cup!
As always with the VLN the racing was good throughout the classes, with Clios providing much entertainment.
Another crowd pleaser was the presence of this M1, along with a number of E30 M3s, and a Manta, competiting in the historic classes
