The weekend of the August 17-19, 2007 Monterey Historics Races began on Friday with the "Historics to Quail Run" departing the track for the Quail Lodge. Many of these same cars racing would be appearing at the 57th Pebble Beach Concourse d' Elegance on Sunday having finished their racing on Saturday. Upon their return the Ferrari Show began with a Ferrari F40 Celebration parade followed by two Ferrari Historic Challenge Races.

On Saturday the overflow crowd returned to watch the "Toyota Race of Legends" with drivers Bobby Unser, Al Unser Sr., Johnny Rutherford, Bobby Rahal, Parnelli Jones, Emerson Fittipaldi, Vic Elford, Derek Bell, and Ove Anderson all competing in supercharged Toyota Scion TC Coupes (for more info visit www.toyota.com ). Next were seven races beginning with the Pre-1940 Sports and Touring Cars and ending with the 1965-1972 FIA Mfg.

Championship Cars with '50s and '60s Racing Cars and Indy Cars in between . Sunday was exceptional with the 1955-1962 Formula Cars ( F-1, F-2 , F-Jr.), the 1966-1974 Historic Can Am Cars, and the 1972-1981 Historic IMSA GT Cars with Production Sports Cars and Production Cars in between.

All through the weekend the paddock was like a living museum of racing with cars like the 1926 Ford Winfield Special, the 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C-2500, a 1958 Lister-Chevy, a 1914 Mercer Race "450" etc. and of course, all those beautiful Indy cars, the featured race car for the weekend. The day closed with the prize giving held at the Red Bull Center Amphitheater, with notable awards for each category of races, highlighted by the Monterey Cup, presented to the owner of the automobile judged to have excelled overall in both presentation and performance (the two criteria for each category award).
