Car 50 - a BMW E92 M3 GTR built by Schirmer Race Engineering for Team Heribert Steiner might prove to be a bit of an upset among some of higher profile front runners. Not only did it set the fifth quickest time in the wet, night qualifying session, it also ran very well in Thursday free practice.

Unfortunately a slight technical problem during day qualifying believed to be related to the throttle prevented meant that one lap was completed, thus meaning the time from the night qualifying in the wet was the quickest the car managed - and means rather than a top ten start, its back in position 88.

The problem is fully fixed, and the car back in good health, and with the likes of Michael Fumke, Damian Flack and the young Valentin Hummel among the drivers, there is a good mixture of pace and experience which should see Team Heribert Steiner do well.
